Connect with Perkins+Will at the 2015 OAA Annual Conference

The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) will hold their 2015 Annual Conference in Hamilton, Ontario on May 6-8, 2015. Perkins+Will’s Peter Busby will present his newest book Architecture’s New Edges, our project team leaders will give two project tours, and we will sponsor two artists during the Architecture Crawl. The Ontario Association of Architects is dedicated to promoting and increasing the knowledge, skill and proficiency of its more than 5,200 members, and administering the Architects Act, in order that the public interest may be served and protected. 

Thursday, May 7 

8:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. 
Bob Currie will lead a tour of McMaster Innovation Park. McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) occupies the site of a former Westinghouse manufacturing complex. It is being redeveloped by McMaster University as a research and innovation park focusing on entrepreneurism and the commercialization of research. LEARN MORE+

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. 
Peter Busby will give a lecture related to his new book Architecture’s New Edges. Rapid technological advances and meaningful cultural shifts have brought architects into a new era of sustainable design. In this session, Peter Busby the 2014 RAIC Gold Medal winner broadens the boundaries of the sustainability discussion to explore “Architecture’s New Edges,” a more inclusive understanding of high-performance design. 7:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. 
The HBSA Architectural Crawl takes place at five architecturally unique venues across the city. Each venue features performances by notable local musicians, exhibitions by local artists, drinks and hors d’oeuvres by local restaurants and a cash bar. The Dundas office is sponsoring two local artists (Daniel Hutchinson and Laura Marotta) at this event. LEARN MORE+

8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. 
Philip O’Sullivan will lead a tour of the Mohawk College David Braley Recreation + Athletics Centre. Touring the David Braley Athletics and Recreation Centre (DBARC) will expose participants to cutting edge wellness and athletics facilities. The DBARC is not only the home of the Mohawk Mountaineers, a varsity team, it also functions as the centre for student and faculty recreation. LEARN MORE+
