Janice Barnes will be on the panel ‘Learnings from a National-Philanthropic Collaboration to Build Local Resilience’ as part of the ICLEI Resilient Cities conference in Bonn, Germany. This session will showcase global applications of a resilience-centered capacity-building and project development facility called Resilience Academy. Resilience Academy is an accelerated project design workshop created in 2015 to support 67 states, cities, and counties across the United States rebuild after recent disasters as part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) innovative federal competition and capacity-building initiative—the National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC).
