The first run of the new Atlanta Streetcars is scheduled to start before the end of the year. From the beginning, a special team will be assigned to tracking the impact. 11Alive's Jennifer Leslie reports they'll look at who, why, and how many riders they have. They also want to look at business and real estate along the route. They'll make all of this public, so you can judge the project for yourself. The new streetcars are the focus of new research by urban planner Kevin Bacon. He heads a team from the firm Perkins + Will: "We're looking at anything from the number of jobs, building permits issued, quality of development, transportation share, is vehicle dependency down, is walking up?"
