On Thursday January 29, the Washington, DC office of Perkins+Will sponsored a day-long Evidence-Based Healthcare Design Forum in partnership with the Georgetown University School of Healthcare Management. The team assembled experts from around the country, each offering their unique perspective on the US healthcare system and the opportunities provided by an evidence-based design approach.
The event was a powerful testimonial to the critical role our built environment plays in the outcome of healthcare services. In the audience was an impressive assembly of healthcare executives, educators and policy makers. All agreed that the forum will serve as a bellwether of change for healthcare design.
The forum's success is especially poignant in light of the difficult times we otherwise find ourselves in. It serves as a great reminder that what we do is not only of critical importance to our clients, it is a critical component of our larger social fabric.
The forum was conceived and planned by Carrie Rich, along with Tama DuffyDay and Dan Moore. Assisting in the event planning and execution was Julie Eppinger, who received lots of help from Lindsay Hart and Anna Russi.
