William MacIntosh, AIA LEED AP, is a practice leader for higher education for the New York office with a focus on campus planning and academic facilities. Bill brings over twenty years of experience in the management and design of complex architectural and master planning projects, with a distinct focus on colleges and universities. He is currently leading master plan updates for the four universities and twelve community colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities System. He also has considerable experience with cultural institutions, including prominent museums, historic sites, and performing arts venues. Bill’s work is driven by a desire to fulfill the distinct goals of each institution in a way that strengthens the unique character of each campus through sustainable, innovative design solutions. He believes design should create opportunities to enhance learning not only in the classroom, but across the campus, leveraging the latest technology.

Prior to joining Perkins+Will, Bill was a partner at Cooper Robertson & Partners. His recent clients have included Pratt Institute, City University of New York, Yale University, and the Research Triangle Park Foundation. He is a member of the Society for College and University Planning, and received a B.A. in Architecture from Yale College, summa cum laude, and M. Arch. from Columbia University.
