The American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) provides education in cardiopulmonary medicine, critical care, and sleep medicine, serving 18,700 members worldwide. Our team worked closely with the leadership from several parts of the organization to clearly identify their respective functional and qualitative needs to develop a facility from the inside out.

The new building houses two primary functions: office space of 33,000 square feet and training facilities of 15,000 square feet. The training wing features six ICU simulation training rooms, a large flexible auditorium with adjacent pre-function breakout space, and eight flexible smaller meeting rooms. The office wing houses the professional foundation, governance, publication and administrative functions.

The LEED Silver project incorporates extensive energy and resource-efficient strategies, including solar shading, access to natural light and views, and responsible material use. The site plan and building design also accommodates a 10,000 square foot building expansion, which can be either horizontal or vertical, to accommodate future growth.
