The Concordia International School Shanghai (CISS) is an international school offering American, pre-collegiate programs focusing on a student-centered learning community. Located in Central Pudong, CISS opened in the fall of 1998 and operates an exciting K-12 program.

We worked with CISS to develop a master plan for a new school campus. The 31,000 square meter campus was planned for 1,600 K-12 students. The master plan consists of a series of academic pavilions and shared facilities such as dining, library/media center, performing arts, physical education and sports fields. The plan incorporates the six dimensions of holistic learning that form the backbone of the school’s philosophical approach to learning.

Phase One of CISS's permanent facility is a 2-story school of approximately 5,400 square meters, accommodating 300 students in grades 5 through 12. In addition to classrooms, the facility houses a library/media center, art rooms, science rooms, performing arts and administrative offices. The building accommodates wireless information technology allowing computer access from all locations within the building. The Phase One building is the focal point for both the school campus and the Concordia community.
