Mission Rock Seawall Lot 337
San Francisco Giants
San Francisco, California
Size: 27 acres/11 hectares
We are teamed with the San Francisco Giants and The Cordish Company to create a new dynamic, celebrated, public destination on a infill site directly across Mission Creek from Giants AT&T Ballpark.
The team's design for Mission Rock, developed through an extensive process of engagement with city agencies and the city residents, envisions a lively, mixed-use neighborhood that contributes 3.7 million gross square feet of residential, commercial, and retail uses - including over 650 units of housing, and 8 acres of new waterfront open space. The Mission Rock neighborhood will have a vibrant street life, enlivened by retail, dining and entertainment venues, with a special emphasis on local retailers and restaurants.
The district is located adjacent to an extended light rail line and is surrounded by new and emerging transit-oriented neighborhoods including the UCSF Mission Bay campus. Our design features a prominent 5 acre regional park with a shoreline promenade and great lawn that functions as a major outdoor event space. The open space extends from the waterfront park and wraps around the apron of an historic pier, which will be revitalized to become the future headquarters of Anchor Brewers and Distillers. A one-acre neighborhood square is located within the heart of the development, connected to multiple, irresistible paths through the new site to the waterfront.
