Troy Block is a full block redevelopment located in the heart of the South Lake Union neighborhood and one of only three superblocks in Seattle. The site is formally home to two early 20th century landmark historic buildings: the Troy Laundry building and the Boren Investment building. The new master plan plays homage to the block’s historic roots by retaining portions of each building and integrating their facades into the design of the new 12 and 13 story office towers. Geared towards technology companies, efficient floor plates (50% more square footage per floor than any other South Lake Union office building) provide more flexibility for larger work groups and increased collaboration. The pedestrian movement is enhanced by a cross block connection with a central courtyard accessed by a public lobby. While the design of the new office towers is modern, there is a strong connection to the landmark buildings through proportion, grain, and color.
