The “Future of Architectural Research” Conference Registration Opens

Perkins+Will Organizes Research Conference

Registration is now open for the 2015 Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC) Conference “The Future of Architectural Research.” The event is being organized by Perkins+Will and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and will take place April 6-9, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois. Registration can be completed by visiting the conference website.

The conference will address several important areas of architectural research: advanced materials and building technologies; environmental, energy and building performance factors; computational design; design delivery; social and behavioral research in design; building types and design methods; and research in practice and academia.

Gail Brager from the University of California Berkeley and Center for the Built Environment will give the first keynote presentation on new ways of thinking about designing or operating buildings to provide enhanced thermal experiences with low energy.

Chris Paredis from the National Science Foundation will give the second keynote presentation on the importance of the theoretical foundations of engineering design and systems engineering when striving to improve architectural design methods and tools.

This is an event for researchers, faculty members, design professionals, and policy makers to discuss and set the course for the future of architectural research. Full conference program can be viewed here.
