NPR's Marketplace Interviews Leigh Christy About Green Roofs

Green Roofs Can Help Keep Cities Cool

Leigh Christy of Perkins+Will's Los Angeles office talked with Matt Baume of Marketplace about green roofs and the possibilities they create for cities. The story was broadcast on NPR and highlighted the plan of the LA River Revitalization Corporation to add a green space in Lincoln Heights. Christy suggested a few options for the neighborhood including providing more raised beds or more greenhouses.

The news segment referenced a recent EPA study that predicts that as cities grow hotter, replacing flat black rooftops with plants could cool cities back down.
