Sprout Space Featured at the Modular Construction Summit in Washington, DC (June 27th – 28th)

Perkins+Will’s Sprout Space will be featured as part of the Modular Construction Summit in Washington, D.C. June 27th-28th. On June 28th, Sprout Space project manager Allen Post will present the project as part of a panel discussion and attendees can tour Sprout Space at the National Building Museum following the discussion.

Created by Perkins+Will’s award-winning K-12 Education design team, Sprout Space uses cutting edge green building strategies to provide a healthy and sustainable learning environment.

Allen Post has overseen development of numerous public and private K-12 schools, including three LEED certified schools. Allen’s interest in modular construction and school design led to the creation of Sprout Space – a new, high-performance, healthy and modular classroom. The classroom utilizes sustainable design features like integrated rainwater collection and photovoltaic roof panels, as well as the most efficient heating and cooling systems.

Sprout Space was developed specifically to enhance learning through its unique design, which encourages various teaching styles and seating arrangements, impromptu collaboration among peers, and outdoor learning, in order to best meet students’ needs.
