Brenda Smith

RID, LEED AP, IIDA
Associate Principal, Health, New York

For Brenda, healthcare has always been a source of meaningful work. First as a nurse, and later as a designer, she found joy in working to make spaces that support powerful moments—some filled with happiness, others with sorrow, but all sacred. Those moments are the catalyst for her designs. Brenda takes great pride in relating to patients and seeing the immediate impact that a new space can have on patients, staff, and family.

When she isn’t designing award-winning healthcare projects, Brenda enjoys working in her garden, traveling, and experiencing different cultures. She is particularly fond of introducing herself to the food and architecture that makes each city uniquely its own.
