Brent Welty

Architect AIBC, AAA, MRAIC
Calgary

When his third-grade teacher asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, Brent already knew he wanted to be an architect. With a background that grew to include computer science, industrial design, and cognitive psychology, Brent discovered that being an architect can encompass many more facets than he realized.

Early in his career, Brent was exposed to the ground-breaking green design projects of our Vancouver studio, inspiring him to approach his work with a focus on sustainability and energy conservation. Embodying that same drive to create responsible, forward-looking solutions, Brent draws from his cross-disciplinary background to integrate new technologies in design, fabrication, and construction to solve contemporary challenges.

Carrying forward the legacy that inspired his own career, Brent promotes a culture of innovation with his leadership in the Calgary studio, and supports the broader community through his contributions as Co-Chair of the RAIC Alberta Chapter.
