Elina Cardet

Associate AIA
Associate Principal, Interior Design Director, Miami

For Elina, architecture is a thoughtful balance of artistic poetry and applied science.  Equally comfortable resolving the technical details of a project or imagining an innovative new approach to a design problem, her work is characterized by a timeless sense of modernity.

Elina’s design philosophy was shaped during her time in Rome, where she studied as a student.  Exploring classical works of architecture, she learned to avoid stylistic trends in favor of design that is enduring. Much of her inspiration continues to come from working internationally, distilling each location’s unique sense of place in to her projects.

A pacesetter for sustainable design for over 20 years, Elina continues to raise awareness around material toxicity and places human well-being at the center of her design approach.

“Focusing on light and materiality to create an emotional connection to the space and designing a few essential, well-edited, place-making devices help make environments memorable and universally inviting across different project types.”
Elina’s design career has followed a non-linear path. As a young architect in NYC, her focus on high-rise buildings was followed by experiences in civic and museum work. Craving a creative, faced-paced work environment, she turned her focus to interior architecture, branded retail and hospitality.
