Valdis Zusmanis

ASLA, LEED AP BD+C
Associate Principal, Landscape Architecture, Atlanta

As a child, Valdis developed an early appreciation for the arts, spending most of his free time with a paintbrush in hand. His career path was sealed the summer of his senior year when a close friend introduced him to the field of landscape architecture.

Valdis’ diverse portfolio spans landscape architecture, urban design and landscape planning, and encompasses a wide variety of public and private projects located throughout the world.  His depth of experience provides him with a unique perspective on the synergies between various project types and the design opportunities presented by integrated urban design efforts.  Recognized with numerous awards, he is committed to the planning and design of sustainable environments in the civic realm.

Hailing from Grand Rapids, Valdis was born to Latvian parents, and raised to be curious about his surroundings. Finding inspiration for his work from nature (the indelible source of all forms and solutions), Valdis is committed to the planning and design of truly sustainable environments.

Valdis' design for the AFC provides areas of respite for building occupants outside of their standard workplace.
