Alameda Point Master Plan

Perkins+Will was engaged by the City of Alameda for a master planning effort that would provide a highly sustainable vision for the redevelopment of the Alameda Point Naval Air Station. Our team worked with the City Staff and a large Resource Team of transportation planners, economist, sustainability consultant and engineers on multiple land use alternatives that were compatible with the community’s vision while being progressive to plan for sea-level rise and climate change issues.
The conceptual land use plan developed for a vibrant, mixed-use, pedestrian- and bike-friendly, waterfront development allows a phased development that is financially feasible, has the maximum flexibility for multiple regenerative solutions throughout the Base, and provides flexibility to adapt to the changing market conditions.
