We began our relationship with Brown-Forman in 2000, developing campus planning guidelines and updating workplaces in Louisville, Kentucky. Their goals were to accommodate increased collaboration, conferencing and to improve effectiveness in their mission of building brands while respecting Brown-Forman's unique history and culture.
Our work continued with the design of branch offices in key market cities throughout the United States. As the company shifted to a less private office-intensive environment, we established up-to-date workplace standards, such as consistent office and workstation sizes and ancillary and support criteria. Brand-building initiatives include an environmental graphics program to complement the extensive art program for workspaces both on campus and in field offices.
The London office of Brown-Forman posed new challenges as Brown-Forman sought to maximize their valuable central London real estate. This was accomplished by utilizing "hot desking" and "hoteling" in which a limited number of workstations and offices are shared by multiple team members who work in the office with varying degrees of frequency. The result is an open office environment in which branding takes center stage.
