Founded in 1961, the College of Coastal Georgia is located on 193 acres in the coastal city of Brunswick, Georgia. From its current semester enrollment peak of over 3,000 students, the College plans academic and infrastructure improvements to accommodate some 10,000 students in the future.

Repositioning the campus to take advantage of existing site features, our team used this opportunity to help develop a flexible framework for future campus growth. The site design is centered on a future campus green that will replace an existing parking lot and an entry plaza that anchors the southern end of the future lawn. The plaza provides much needed outdoor activity space for campus events and helps anchor the new building to the surrounding campus. Through the use of native vegetation and preservation of existing site features, Perkins+Will was able to create a beautiful and sustainable landscape that speaks to the unique character of this coastal Georgia town.
