Deborah's Place Multi Purpose Space Renovation
Size: 8,000 square feet
Deborah's Place is a Chicago non-profit offering housing and support services for women who are currently or formerly homeless. Perkins+Will partnered with Deborah's Place to turn a decades-old gym into a bright, accessible multi-purpose space to expand programming and services to the 90 residents of Deborah’s Place and the East Garfield Park community.
Through updated finishes, upgraded lighting, functional and movable furniture, and the addition of an audio-visual system, Deborah’s Place now has a space that will better accommodate current programming and enable them to offer more services to their residents, community, and partnering organizations.
Perkins+Will provided pro bono design services. The project was made possible by donations from Sammons Financial Group and the following vendors: Carnegie Fabrics / Xorel Artform, Corporate Concepts, Systems Unlimited, Milliken Floors, Sit on It, Watson Furniture, and The Ruder Group.
