Perkins+Will is the district architect for Lake Forest District 67, an elementary school district. When Perkins+Will was originally commissioned, the district was composed of four K-3 neighborhood schools, one 4-5 intermediate school and one 6-8 junior high school.

Perkins+Will initially assisted the district in its long-term facility and master planning strategy. The result of this effort was the reconfiguration of the district into three K-4 primary schools and one 5-8 middle school. The reconfiguration consolidated facilities and operations by closing the temporary Lake Forest Intermediate School and redistributing its students to other schools.

A combination of new construction, renovation, and deferred maintenance was provided at each district school. New construction at the elementary schools included classrooms, media centers, and multipurpose rooms. The Deerpath campus new construction included additional classrooms, an expanded research facility and a gymnasium.

These district reconfiguration and facility improvements have resulted in extensive increases in the quality of educational delivery and continue to provide significant operational savings.
