FAME's new office expresses the passion and expertise that make it a leader in marketing and brand experiences. By communicating their own bold brand and exemplifying their work hard/have fun culture, the new office generates a palpable energy and buzz for employees and clients alike.
Stepping off the elevator, the brand is immediately apparent. A portal saturated in "FAME red" frames the space beyond like a living diorama. The backdrop to the reception is an eight foot high plywood box, customized with concentric circles derived from the FAME brand, which visually separates the entry and the cafe beyond. To express the dual nature of FAME--serious/sophisticated and playful/casual--raw elements of the building are exposed to contrast with more sophisticated elements, creating a memorable boutique experience. The "Wall of FAME" displays artifacts encapsulated in glass jars by employees on their first day at the company, an integral part of their culture.
Working with a smaller footprint than their former space, the Perkins+Will team eliminated private offices to create an efficient, collaborative environment. Adjustable height desks and maximized daylight and views respond to the health and wellness of employees. Floating amidst the open workstations is a block of glass front huddle rooms. A large war room takes a commanding presence in the center of this space, with doors that open to workstations on the north and south, providing a central destination for FAME's knowledge sharing. The cafe and adjacent living room is home to everything from office meetings to ping pong tournaments to cocktail parties. The trough cut into the bar island for growing wheat grass or herbs can also be filled with ice and beverages when entertaining.
