Laboratory and Office Tenant Improvement
This 77,000 sf tenant improvement project converted an existing office space into a state-of-the-art research development facility and corporate headquarters for Omeros, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing products focused on inflammation, coagulopathies and disorders of the central nervous system.
To create a collaborative environment, the open offices, private offices, meeting rooms and common spaces wrap around the lab spaces to create a conducive and collaborative environment. The design separates lab and office areas, but are then tied together with playful window openings.
A goal for the client was to explore creative sustainable technologies that would help lower operating costs and reduce energy usage. Many of the materials and finishes were made of recycled content and/ or were locally sourced. A lot of the wood paneling, ceiling, and roof deck pavers are FSC certified. Low emitting paints, floors and adhesives were specified to improve the indoor air quality.
