The Sarasota community had a vision of creating a comprehensive and collaborative school community through an empowering, state-of-the-art facility.

Despite the large student body, Riverview High School creates a school culture reminiscent of a small town high school. Organized into small learning communities that range in size from 150 to 300 students, this comprehensive high school boasts a variety of programs from an expansive science curriculum (including a nuclear program and a planetarium) to myriad music and arts offerings, an International Baccalaureate degree and career driven programs in sports, business and health.

The diverse programs are unified by the building's enclosed courtyard. Reminiscent of a town square, the courtyard connects major school functions while providing a gathering place for all members of the school community. This level of connectivity continues in the new building where the media center connects vertically to the dining area fostering a continuous flow of information, learning and interactions among faculty and students.
