Square Footage: 90,000

The 90,000 square foot (37,160 square meter) Wright State University (WSU) Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration Building (NEC) is a signature building for interdisciplinary and translational research in the heart of the University’s campus. Its mission is to promote funded research initiatives at WSU and encourage collaboration among neurological researchers, engineers, students and faculty. The building is four stories, with a central atrium surrounded by collaboration spaces, office suites, graduate bullpen and an auditorium. Branching from the central atrium are two wings filled with laboratories, designed to be efficient, flexible and adaptable, accommodating the variety of research activities happening within. This collaborative environment will facilitate the flow of knowledge and increase the speed of discovery, shortening the development timeline from bench to bedside and advance innovative technology-based solutions for the regional economy including healthcare and defense.
