The goal of the new Williamson College of Business Administration is to maximize accessibility to business education by integrating scholarship and to serve the local and regional business community.

With a focus on community outreach, this new facility provides both the symbolic and physical link between the external business community, downtown Youngstown, and the Youngstown State University campus. As directed, and as part of the YSU Centennial 2010 Master Plan, the site for the new 106,000 square foot (9,850 square meter) building is located on the fringe of campus and adjacent to a new pedestrian-focused thoroughfare and was chosen specifically to foster this connection.

The new facility houses a variety of spaces and programs to support the mission and strategic vision for the College, such as a large conference center, various outreach centers, a reprogrammed student services center, flexible classroom and learning lab modules, departmental offices, student entrepreneur and incubator spaces, an executive boardroom, and spaces for student organizations. The functions are organized around a large, dynamic, multi-level community gathering area that provides great visual connections to both the downtown area and the YSU campus. The building is designed to present a progressive new image for the College, while being informed by the local environs.
