The New York studio of global architecture and design firm Perkins&Will announces the promotion of Maha Sabra, AIA, OEA, LEED AP BD+C, to Associate Principal.
As a Senior Project Manager, Sabra plays a central role leading the studio’s healthcare teams on a variety of complex projects. Her ability to cultivate relationships and manage all aspects of project design and delivery has ensured successful results for clients time and time again.
“Healthcare design plays a pivotal role in the treatment of both physical and mental health. Through the buildings we design, architects can improve both the patient recovery process and the day to day lives of the healthcare professionals that treat them,” Sabra said. “Finishing a project with a happy client and a repeat client is a success to me.”
Over the past five years at Perkins+Will, Sabra held the role of a Senior Project Manager, overseeing the many financial and technical aspects of the design, approval, and delivery process. Her success lies in her ability to mentor and motivate others and to foster collaborative relationships with clients, project partners, and peers.

Sabra is a licensed architect with a Masters in Architecture from the Université De Balamand- Académie Libanaise Des Beaux-Arts in Lebanon and has over 20 years of design and project management experience. Her portfolio includes prominent academic medical centers, clinical projects for high-profile healthcare systems, and commercial development properties in the U.S. and overseas. Her most recently completed project is the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Middletown, New Jersey, which in 2018 won a prestigious national healthcare design award from the American Institute of Architects.
Sabra’s promotion comes at a busy time for the New York studio. The team is overseeing a physician’s tower for a leading academic medical center, a musculoskeletal health institute, and a series of workplace studies for the healthcare industry—in addition to 799 Broadway, a mixed-use commercial building in Manhattan. Its design of Unilever’s North American Headquarters recently earned the designation of LEED Project of the Year by the U.S. Green Building Council’s New Jersey chapter.
