Welcome to our Austin studio

Austin’s rapid population growth and emergence as a leader in the tech industry mirror the design, culture, and talent of our studio: we’re as creative and nimble as the most intrepid start-up. We’re planners and designers who thrive on creative placemaking—imagining and then bringing to life buildings and spaces that keep Austin sustainable, innovative, and weird. And our hands-on involvement in the community inspires us every day, whether it’s donating time and resources to local professional organizations or volunteering with one of many philanthropic organizations. We’re proud of our hometown, and it shows.

“Our studio is a reflection of our dynamic community—vibrant, cutting-edge, and authentic. Whether designing the urban fabric, spaces and places for learning, or simply giving back, we push the limits of innovation and excellence.”
—Stephen Coulston, Principal
Our downtown studio is located in the Littlefield Building, which—completed in 1910—was Austin's first skyscraper.
Our team is focused on giving back to our community.

Seamlessly linking the past and the present.

In collaboration with our Atlanta office, our education team is currently working with Austin ISD and the surrounding community to re-imagine the historic L.C. Anderson High School, which was shuttered in 1971 as part of desegregation. With a nod to the school’s legacy and historic significance, the design team is preserving and rebuilding parts of the existing building, while adding a four-story addition that focuses on student collaboration and future-ready learning spaces.
