BUILD Chicago continues to engage and support youth through outdoor education, community involvement

One of Chicago's leading gang intervention programs ramps up their garden for the 2020 growing season

BUILD engages at-risk youth with in school and after school programs, providing opportunities for them to positively contribute to their communities. In July, some volunteers from our Chicago studio got to help the BUILD team clean up and prepare their Austin community gardens for planting.

We helped the BUILD staff rototill and weed the garden, plant and water over 60 plants, trim trees and bushes in the peace garden, and organize the green house.

BUILD staffers said, “This year with COVID [and other challenges], the garden was not only way behind, it did not have the proper care.”
