Lise Barriere

AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Principal, Design Principal, San Francisco

An architect with more than 30 years of experience, Lise values the importance of a strong conceptual approach and strives to create a clear vision with each project. Her primary focus is creating inspiring yet logical architectural solutions for clients with complex programmatic needs and intense site constraints. A firm believer that every architectural solution should be rooted in the environment surrounding it, Lise looks for clues to anchor every project to its place and its community. From 2015-2018, Lise taught an architectural studio that emphasized site-driven solutions and sustainability, which enabled her to shape the next generation and really promote these ideals.

Born and raised in Montreal, Lise moved to Nova Scotia to study architecture after obtaining her degree in psychology at McGill University and discovered her true passion. She then moved to San Francisco in 1997 and fell in love with the place. Taking advantage of being surrounded by a large body of water, she took up sailing to get a different perspective of the city and the environment surrounding it. Otherwise, she finds respite in painting peculiar birds and more recently started to create sculptures.
