Robert Thompson

LEED AP BD+C, Lean Blackbelt
Associate Principal, Health, Atlanta

Robert has contributed to the design, planning, and programming of the firm’s most complex health-related facilities. His portfolio includes academic medical centers and international healthcare projects as well as cancer centers and community hospitals. He takes pride in streamlining the design process and innovating development strategies that translate into competitive advantage for his clients. In addition, he stays ahead of clinical needs and evolving technologies so that his clients can make informed decisions about the care environments where they work and collaborate.

Robert emphasizes that healthcare design is so much more than assembly and technical problem solving. Locale and culture are critical to the design of healthcare spaces beyond the highly standardized settings for direct patient care. He prioritizes personal connection with clients from a project’s outset and especially appreciates the opportunity to lean into his Southern roots for healthcare systems in Georgia and the region.

“Healthcare design is driven by people. I like to get to know who our clients are professionally, but also outside of work. Connecting with people ensures that each facility expresses a strong culture.”
