Two of Our Projects Win Interior Design Best of Year Awards in 2021

Interior Design Magazine recognized two of our projects as winners of the coffee/tea and large corporate office categories in their annual Best of Year Awards. The program, according to the magazine, has become the ultimate measure of excellence and recognizes significant work from designers, architects, and manufacturers across the globe.

We’re fortunate to collaborate with our clients on these projects as these designs wouldn’t be possible without their partnership.

Nemesis Coffee at Great Northern Way

A social anchor to the new campus, Nemesis Coffee at Great Northern Way is a catalyst for connection and a cultural inspiration to the emerging arts and design community.

Nemesis Coffee at Great Northern Way
Vancouver, British Columbia

Nemesis is a young coffee company with aspirations to build community and create culture. Inspired by the team’s newly built sculptural Pavilion on the Great Northern Way campus, the company chose to adopt the landmark building to help establish themselves as a recognizable brand and transform Vancouver’s coffee scene.

A social anchor to the new campus, Nemesis Coffee at Great Northern Way is a catalyst for connection and a cultural inspiration to the emerging arts and design community. The coffeehouse blurs the boundary between public and private space with a welcoming outdoor plaza and provides a rich experience and continuum of inspiration to the community.

Waste Management Headquarters
Houston, Texas

The design of Waste Management (WM) headquarters inspires a culture of collaboration, accelerates a culture of innovation and communicates the company’s leadership in environmental stewardship and sustainability. One of the most dramatic features of the headquarters is the living wall of plants flanking the nine-story staircase, with the mix of light and dark green and yellow reflecting WM’s brand and evoking the core value that sustainability is “an integral part of everyday life.”

Signify Health
Dallas, Texas

Signify Health is a company built for a purpose: to enable more happy, healthy days at home. Signify has built a leading healthcare platform that leverages advanced analytics, technology, and nationwide healthcare provider networks to create and power value-based payment programs to deliver on that mission. To have a physical space that nurtures this mission-driven culture and focuses on wellness for its employees, Signify Health tapped Perkins&Will for its expertise in interior design, workplace strategy, and change management of its office in Dallas, Texas.

American Cancer Society Gene and Jerry Jones Family Hope Lodge
Dallas, Texas

Located in the Deep Ellum neighborhood in Dallas, a vibrant arts district known for its eclectic and diverse culture, the design intent was to create a sanctuary for patients and caregivers while meeting the City’s design requirements within this historic district. To aid guests’ mental health in their temporary living environment, Hope Lodge provides a “Home Away from Home.”

Just as a kitchen is at the heart of every home, each Lodge has a communal kitchen and eating area for guests to find reprieve and healing through comradery. These areas provide opportunities for interaction with other guests experiencing similar challenges or successes in their cancer journeys. Whether guests are in a common space or private room, the design is tailored for robust and holistic health.

Block Party
Chicago, Illinois

“How might we stimulate and encourage safe outdoor dining and entertainment during cold weather in Chicago?” Block Party is a clever solution to allow restaurants to expand through outdoor seating modules and continue service in the winter when COVID-19 restrictions limit indoor dining capacity. A cluster of blocks over parking lanes and sculptural elements on sidewalks activates the street and draws intrigue and opportunities for gathering and community building. Block party is a flexible approach to outdoor dining that is adaptable and easy to implement for many different sites and street configurations.

Shure has been designing the finest audio products since 1925, amplifying the voices of world leaders, renown musicians, broadcasters, and more. Diversity, creativity, innovation, and quality have always been central to Shure’s mission, and these are features reflected in Shure’s lobby and café renovation.

Shure’s future-focused products are designed and built with incredible precision. So too is the design and detail of these spaces which support a new hybrid way of working, providing choice, flexibility, and pride for a world-class workforce.
