Welcome to our San Antonio studio

Older than the State of Texas, San Antonio has countless stories to tell—and we’re inspired by the way it keeps writing new ones. We see this every day right around our studio. Located in the heart of the historic Pearl neighborhood, we’re surrounded by old and new—rich cultural context and fast-moving innovation. We’re excited to play our role in the Alamo City’s next chapter, delivering meaningful architecture and design that serves the vibrant communities of today and tomorrow.

FEATURED WORK
Healthy People, Healthy Environment

The University Health Sky Tower represents a new era of patient-centered, technologically advanced care supplemented by healing works of art. It is also notable for its sustainability as one of only three hospitals in Texas of comparable size to earn LEED Gold.

Among other sustainable strategies on this project, we used 30% recycled materials and diverted the equivalent of 91% of construction waste from the landfill.
Designed in partnership with Barnes Gromatsky Kosarek Architects, the adaptive reuse project won a number of awards, including the 2023 AIA Austin Design Award of Excellence, 2022 ULI Austin Impact Awards Innovative Project of the Year, 2022 IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter Design Excellence Award, and more.
Connecting Community to Opportunity

Austin Community College’s Highland Campus is a perfect example of the community-focused, sustainable work we’re excited to create in and around San Antonio. This project provides state-of-the-art training facilities for some of the region’s most in-demand jobs while serving as a model of adaptive reuse—reanimating vacant structures and their immediate vicinities. A place of social infrastructure for the many first-generation students who attend, the project adaptively reuses 58% of the existing mall structure and earned a LEED Gold rating.

Thomas Jefferson High School
When it was constructed in 1932, this was "the most outstanding high school in America," according to Life Magazine. We've been actively involved with phased renovations since 2012, modernizing it for today's students and teachers while honoring the architecture that landed the campus on the National Register of Historic Places.
The University of Texas at San Antonio University Center
For this project, the space between buildings was as important as the buildings themselves. Between the renovated university center and an expansion that includes a ballroom and event space, our design keeps the school community active and connected on a shaded pedestrian street with cafes, storefronts, and outdoor seating with a strong and unified visual identity.
