Yan Wang

If Yan hadn’t pursued design professionally, he would have probably become a book illustrator. Yan is often seen with a sketch book and a blue pen. Blue-pen sketch has become part of his identity. From urban life, natural scenery, and human interactions, every destination can be a source of inspiration under his pen.

The drawing process is an exercise for him to get to know local context, urban development and relationships between people and natural/built environments. He believes it is an important exercise that helps inspire and inform his design.

A city, in his eyes, is an organism that requires thoughtful care and sustainable planning. He and his team are purposely driven to translate civic values into vibrant urban places.

Yan is an active speaker on urbanism. He is also a productive author who is committed to merging urban and human aspects in unique, inspiring ways.
