Bridget Lesniak

AIA, LEED AP
Principal, Chicago

When it came time to apply to colleges, Bridget was torn. She loved camping and being a Girl Scout counselor, so she considered forestry. But on her breaks from work at her local library, she really enjoyed reading Architectural Record. And then there was that paper she’d written on Walter Gropius and the Bauhaus…  her father was an engineer and her mother an artist, so Bridget chose to pursue architecture.

After completing her degree in architecture and traveling around Europe during her study abroad program, Bridget earned master’s degrees in architecture and business administration. Today, Bridget knows she chose the right path: she loves solving problems, and her business background enables her to think strategically for clients. She guides them through complex processes involving many stakeholders, and her commitment to identifying success factors and advocating for clients shine through on each project.

“Architecture is a team sport with a deep bench. I love my role as coach - assembling the strongest team and creating the winning strategy for our clients.”
Northwestern Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Building, Chicago, IL
The Simpson Querrey Biomedical Research Building for Northwestern University is one of Bridget’s recent projects. Big and complicated, it’s everything she loves in a project. She loves the relationships she’s built during the six years it’s taken to bring it to completion. She also considers it to be a very important project. University-driven biomedical research has resulted in so many advances in her own lifetime. To play a part in that is truly meaningful.
FUN FACT
Since joining Perkins&Will, Bridget has been responsible for managing over $1 billion of built construction.
