He has maintained a continuous focus on sports and recreation projects, reflecting his unwavering passion for this building typology and strong commitment to social purpose. As a Principal, Phil has been instrumental in building a thriving practice in this field and has gained enormous respect from his clients and peers.
He has contributed to countless communities across Canada through his dedication to both a highly contextual brand of architecture and a deeply accountable process of design and management. At the root of this approach is Phil’s insatiable curiosity in the people and places in which he works and strong belief in the ability of architecture to transform communities. His award-winning projects are distinguished as much for their beauty as their overall functionality and ease of operation. Phil earned his Bachelor of Architecture and his Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
