Karen Krauskopf

AIA, LEED AP
Principal, Operations Director, Austin

Fascinated by architecture’s ability to stir emotion and create a sense of place, Karen’s love for the built environment was developed at an early age during family travel abroad. Her passion for community and placemaking was solidified as she studied the importance of architecture and how it can cultivate strong emotional connections in visitors and communities while pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Houston.

In her journey from designer to operations director for our Austin Studio, Karen’s career has focused on both the commercial and cultural realm. By emphasizing creating communities through design, whether in a corporate campus or civic and cultural destinations, she revels in the power of architecture and its ability to change the way we experience environments. She has even been able to foster eco-diplomacy through work with the state department’s international embassy and consulate projects.

Karen now turns her focus to growing the profile and operations of our Austin studio. She is partnering with fellow directors to cultivate a robust and innovative culture from both design and business perspectives. This collaboration will enable our team to lead the way in designing vibrant, prosperous, and resilient communities across the Central Texas region.
