Blake Sabo

AIA, NCARB
Associate Principal, Managing Principal, Denver

Hailing from Cincinnati, Blake’s journey in architecture and design is fueled by his passion for art and creativity. His passion was also influenced by his family—his father designed and built homes, while his stepfather was an architect.

With a focus on the Science and Technology practice, Blake’s design philosophy centers on the principle of “form follows function.” He embraces the 80/20 rule, dedicating 80% of his focus to efficiency and cost-effectiveness, while the remaining 20% is reserved for intentional design elements that create meaningful impact. This creates a blend of functionality and aesthetics that enhances the human experience.

Blake worked in Dubai for 13 months in 2015, leading an international project team that included Emirati, Lebanese, Indian, French, and Malaysian professionals. This experience reinforced his philosophy of embracing growth opportunities—venturing into new territories while maintaining effectiveness. Blake takes a collaborative approach to leadership and mentorship that values careful listening and embraces diverse perspectives in every project.

The best advice I received was 'find the sweet spot of discomfort'—that optimal space where you're challenged enough to grow, yet still able to perform effectively. It's about pushing boundaries while maintaining excellence.
