CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Perkins&Will is proud to sponsor the John Haymaker Fellowship Fund, a financial gift awarded to Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Architecture and Planning students in the Master of Science in Architecture Studies, Master of Architecture, Master of Science in Building Technology, and MITdesignX programs. The fellowship honors the life and legacy of John Haymaker—MIT alumnus, professor, and former director of research at Perkins&Will—who passed away in 2022.
The Fellowship Fund offers financial aid to help students dedicate themselves fully to their studies and explore topics within their research-based education. The fellowship selection process balances financial needs across the student body with academic pursuits aligned with Haymaker’s impactful legacy in the fields of parametric modeling, sustainable design, performance optimization, and computational design.
This past year, two students, Rodrigo Gallardo (SMArchS) and Bolurin Adedipe (MArch), were able to attend the School of Architecture and Planning tuition-free for the academic year thanks in part to the contributions of the Fellowship Fund. The fellowship continues to support emerging talent, with the 2025–2026 award going to Helena Girardoni (MArch) and Salma Rodriguez (MArch).
