Aleks Saryusz-Romiszewski
Born and educated in Poland, Aleks’s passion for architecture and design began at an early age, drawn to the way the built environment shapes how we experience the world around us. Initially pursuing a degree in civil engineering in California, Aleks valued the strong technical foundation it provided, but soon realised she was more inspired by the creative and design-focused aspects of the industry. This shift ultimately led her to pursue a degree in interior design.
During her studies, Aleks worked part-time at a multidisciplinary architectural studio in San Francisco, gaining valuable early insight into the collaborative and cross-disciplinary nature of architectural practice. Following graduation, she joined HOK’s San Francisco office, working on corporate interiors projects before later relocating to London and continuing her career within HOK’s London studio. Working across both the United States and the U.K. gave Aleks valuable insight into different approaches to workplace and interior design before she joined our London studio in 2012.
