Celebrating the Promotions of Our Colleagues Across Canada

Join us in celebrating the professional growth of our colleagues across Canada with a series of promotions in our Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver studios that span disciplines and practice areas.

Lana Shahin
Lana Shahin, our Interiors leader for Canada East, has been named a Managing Principal in our Toronto studio

With over a decade of experience across five countries—including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, the UAE, and now Canada—Lana brings a global perspective to every project. Her portfolio includes work spanning commercial developments, corporate workplaces, high-end residential, and hospitality sectors. This international foundation informs a design approach that is both adaptable and deeply attuned to cultural and contextual nuance.

Tarek Zeidan, a design leader in our Vancouver studio, has been promoted to Associate Principal

Tarek lives and breathes architecture. For him, it is a way of understanding the world—how people inhabit space, how culture is expressed, and how history and place shape meaningful environments. An avid traveler, he built his career working across Europe, the Middle East, the Gulf, and Canada, cultivating a deep sensitivity to context and the human experience of architecture. His work is driven by rigorous conceptual thinking, seeking clarity, coherence, and designs that are honest, place-specific, and tectonic in expression.

Gayle Meeks
Gayle Meeks, a Technical Director for Canada East, has been promoted to Senior Associate

Gayle is a guiding force in our Toronto and Ottawa studios, lending her technical skill to the successful delivery of some of our most innovative, detailed, and complex projects. She provides uncompromising oversight, ensuring quality on every project to which she contributes, and takes a collaborative and proactive approach when working with construction teams to execute high-performance projects.

Elton Gjata, a Digital Practice Leader for Canada West, has been promoted to Senior Associate

Growing up with two engineer parents, Elton was first introduced to AutoCAD as a fun game to play after school in his parents’ office. He has always been intrigued by processes and interested in technology, design, and how things operate—often taking apart and re-building electronic devices just for fun. A versatile problem solver, Elton works at the intersection of design, technology, and innovation. Rethinking the way in which we design individual buildings as a process, he oversees all of our projects through the lens of improving efficiency and helps our teams elevate the quality of design by constructing new tools and incorporating an evidence-driven design approach to building.
