Exciting Beginnings: Design Process Launched for Seaton Recreation Complex & Library

An internal design charrette played a pivotal role in shaping the final design options for the Seaton Recreation Complex & Library that were presented to the community

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the design process for the highly anticipated Seaton Recreation Complex & Library in the City of Pickering. This project marks a significant step forward in creating a vibrant, multipurpose community space that will serve as a hub for recreation, learning, and gathering.

Our internal design charette brought three design teams into an intensive session. Then each team presented their initial concepts to the entire studio and asked for feedback. These early explorations generated creative and innovative options that aim to meet Pickering’s diverse needs.

To ensure the community is deeply involved in shaping this project, a series of three open houses will present the three distinct design options. The options are accompanied by an online survey, giving residents the opportunity to share their preferences and provide valuable input. This feedback will play a crucial role in helping us finalize the design, ensuring it aligns with the community’s vision for the new complex.

We’re committed to creating a space that reflects the needs and aspirations of the Pickering community, and we look forward to continuing this collaborative process as we move toward a final design for the Seaton Recreation Complex & Library.
