We welcomed Brent Capron, an award-winning designer with more than 20 years of experience, as the interior design director of the firm’s New York office. In this role, Capron is responsible for leading the creative efforts of the corporate interiors practice and strengthening client relationships in the Northeast region.
“Brent has the breadth of experience and knowledge to take our interior design studio to the next level of excellence,” says Paul Eagle, managing director of Perkins&Will’s New York office. “He’s a great listener, a gifted designer, and a consummate professional – overall, a great addition to our team and to our clients’ teams.”
A Colorado native, Capron began his career as a designer in Los Angeles before moving to New York in 1999. Some of his local projects include MetLife’s Global Headquarters, Grey Worldwide’s International Headquarters, CLAY Health Club + Spa, and offices for MTV Networks Entertainment – all located in New York City. National and international projects include Westfield’s North American Headquarters in Los Angeles; Deloitte’s National Workplace Strategy in several cities across Canada; and Bloomberg’s Regional Distribution Center in London.
“I was drawn to Perkins&Will because of the quality of the firm’s work, its record of innovation, and its cross-pollination of architecture and interior design, which aligns with my skillset,” Capron says. “I’m excited to join the talented team of designers here in the New York office, and I look forward to doing great things with them.”
Capron’s work has won multiple architecture and design awards, including an Interior Design Best of Year Award for Grey Worldwide’s International Headquarters, an International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Northern California Interior Design Award for Qantas One World Business Lounge at the Los Angeles International (LAX) airport, and an IIDA Northern California People’s Choice Award for Westfield’s North American Headquarters.
He is a member of the AIA and holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
