Perkins&Will Appoints New Managing Director for its Vancouver and Calgary Studios, Elevates Next-Generation Leader

Derek Newby to lead the firm’s Western Canadian practices and Susan Gushe promoted to chief operating officer.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA—Architecture and design firm Perkins&Will announces the appointment of a new managing director of its Vancouver and Calgary studios, as well as the elevation of a new executive global head of operations.

In Vancouver and Calgary, former principal Derek Newby returns as managing director, and Susan Gushe—the managing director in Vancouver/Calgary—has been elevated to chief operating officer.

“Returning after a recent nine years with the studio, Derek has proven to be a well-rounded architect, mentor and collaborator,” says Gushe. “We welcome Derek back and look forward to his continuing vision and contributions to the firm.”

Susan Gushe | Global
