Shannon Gedey, AIA, RELi AP, LEED AP BD+C, LBB, served on a panel at the Chicago Women In Architecture February Forum: Climate Change, Adaptation & Resiliency. She and her fellow panelists discussed the key technical, social and cultural shifts required in the building industry to respond to the effects of climate change.
Some of the questions included how affordable housing has responded to the energy code compared to market priced housing, examples of successful resilient design strategies in times of climate crisis, and cultural adjustments that could help the building industry adapt to the climate crisis.
Shannon has presented at numerous conferences and events on the topic of climate resiliency, and contributes this expertise to both the Chicago studio and the firm.
