University of Virginia, University Hospital Expansion Wins at 48th Annual IIDA Interior Design Competition

The 48th Annual IIDA Interior Design Competition has honored the University of Virginia, University Hospital Expansion as a winning project in the Healthcare category. Recognizing projects that celebrate outstanding, innovative, and original interior design, the Hospital Expansion is a welcomed addition to the UVA Health System.

 

In what became the largest expansion in the modern history of the UVA University Health System, the goal of this flagship project was to provide world-class, patient-centered care and better support the work and training of healthcare professionals. The building is designed to connect people to the calming effects of nature, minimize environmental impact, and allow for future flexibility. Congratulations to our client and project team members on this esteemed honor!

Acceptance video for the IIDA Award

Focused on healing and well-being, the University of Virginia (UVA) Health System’s new emergency department and in-patient bed tower offers an enhanced experience for patients and staff. The building is designed to connect people to the calming effects of nature, minimize environmental impact, and allow for future flexibility.
