Angie Varpness

AIA, NCARB, LEED Green Associate, LFA
Associate Principal, Minneapolis

Angies path into architecture started early: she would sketch buildings from the passenger seat as her dad drove, which fostered an appreciation for how things come together. That curiosity evolved into a career grounded in connection between people, ideas, and the systems that bring design to life.

Angie is known for strengthening collaboration across teams, guiding complex design operations, and building trusted client relationships. Acting as both a connector and an integrator, she works across disciplines and roles to align teams and elevate outcomes, ensuring that strong ideas are supported by equally strong processes.

Angies leadership experience—rooted in resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to both people and practice—continues to shape her approach today. She leads with assurance by cultivating strong alignment and guiding teams through complexity with foresight, agility, and confidence.

With expertise spanning design, technical coordination, and management, Angie brings a holistic perspective to her work. She is particularly energized by growing the firm’s civic, cultural, and aviation practices, where multidisciplinary collaboration can have a meaningful impact on communities. She focuses on strengthening the systems and relationships that allow design excellence to take hold and endure.
