Ben Keyworth

AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, LSSGB, EDAC
Associate Principal, Health, Dallas

Ben grew up in southern England, where he loved exploring centuries-old ruins and palaces, puzzling over how they were built. When his family relocated to Texas—where he’s lived ever since—his accent faded, but his appetite for an architectural challenge did not. In healthcare design, the problems are rarely simple, and the stakes are always high, which is why Ben has happily made healthcare his focus for two decades.

While he’s led nearly all types of healthcare projects from start to finish, Ben’s current focus is inpatient rehabilitation facilities. He’s also increasingly a go-to expert in prefabricated construction, finding ways to build everything from small elements to entire buildings off-site and helping minimize disruption on existing campuses. His commitment to finding the right solution for each client is why so many have come back to work with him again and again.

"Beautiful design work can only be successful design work when it's tailored to the client's best interest and needs. I believe our work delivers an excellent experience because it is both high-quality and responsive.”
fun fact

One way Ben likes to spend time when he’s off the clock: on the ice, playing hockey with some of his best friends.

The Medical City Arlington Bed Tower Expansion
Arlington, Texas
Solving for the Right Problem

When Medical City Arlington set out on a major bed tower expansion, the goal was ambitious: 60% of labor completed off-site. Ben worked closely with the client to understand the driving factors behind this goal and how to keep the hospital fully operational throughout the build. These conversations resulted in a smooth process, delivered on time, and provided additional surgical and bed capacity along with a completely reimagined campus identity.
