David Combs

Assoc. AIA, CSI, CCCA, LEED AP
Associate Principal, Dallas

If a book was written to sum up David’s journey to Perkins&Will, it would be called “From Blueberry Farm to Technical Director.”

Born in Camden, New Jersey, David was raised in the nearby town of Hammonton—known as the “Blueberry Capital of the World.” His first job was working on a blueberry farm, before discovering his passion for construction and architecture in high school and college. He believes in attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and problem solving–philosophies that come in handy in his day-to-day role. He considers a project to be a success when he and his team have a rapport with both owner and contractor.

In his free time, David serves as secretary for his neighborhood’s HOA, and volunteers for his son’s Boy Scout troop. He enjoys woodworking, college football, and has a particular passion for photography. David enjoys cooking, and makes a traditional Italian dinner every Sunday—his specialties include homemade meatballs, pasta with Bolognese sauce, and lasagna.

“If you enjoy what you do, do your best at it!”
