David Moon
David is committed to striking a balance between the scientific and human aspects of healing environments, creating spaces where patients, families, and healthcare providers feel confident and comfortable. Challenging the notion of “form follows function,” he believes in harmonizing form and function: His designs embody clients’ objectives while elegantly expressing the essence of architecture.
When reflecting on the future of healthcare design, David envisions more resilient and functionally adaptable clinical spaces, more thoughtfully designed staff areas, and outpatient settings designed for more acute services as technology evolves.
He was one of seven healthcare architects who founded the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA), an organization that recognizes the highly specialized nature of planning and designing healthcare facilities and provides the only specialty certification recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He is currently one of a handful of architects in the Center for Health Design’s Built Environment Network (BEN), a nationwide group of executive-level professionals who are dedicated to improving safety, quality, and sustainability in healthcare facilities.
